How AITEXT() works.
Where it runs
This is generative AI, not scraping. AITEXT sends your prompt and any cell references to the model you have picked in the sidebar and writes the reply straight into the cell. Nothing is written to a new tab.
Where the data comes from
Nothing is fetched from the web. The description comes from the AI model you have picked in the sidebar, working only from your prompt and any cells you reference.
Spends AI tokens, not integration credits. A smaller model such as Claude Haiku or GPT-4o mini covers a job like this for a fraction of the tokens a larger model would use.
